QPTS provide support to the Australian mining and industrial sectors, and we have a number of exciting opportunities for experienced Belt Splicers to join our team! You will be joining our shutdown circuit, based in Port Hedland, with ongoing work throughout 2023!
Your duties
- Handling conveyor belt systems and associated components such as roller frames, skirting systems and belt cleaner systems, conveyor belt tracking units, and chutes
- Operating conveyor vulcanizing and belt handling equipment
- Handling fabric belts
- Applying knowledge of skirting systems and conveyor structures
- Uphold excellent communication skills, commitment to safety, self-motivation, and a committed work ethic.
About you
We are looking for experienced belt splicers, with the relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience). Specifically, you will have:
- Cert III in Polymer Processing OR willingness to undertake Registered Prior Learning (RPL)
- Significant exposure to fabric and/or steel cord belts
- Exposure to the mining industry
- A “think safe, work safe” mind set
- Can-do and solutions-based attitude
- Ability to work autonomously, working toward a common goal
