GRID Frame Project Controller

In this role, you will be part of the finance team in our business group G&T (Generation and Transmission), business unit (GRID Land High Voltage) specializing in the execution of supply contracts for Land cable manufacturing and installation in Europe (Belgium/France/Germany).
Getting a flying start
The Project Controller collaborates with the tender/sales manager, project manager (in charge of the installation) and the finance teams in GRID BU, including plant controller and the central/share service Finance team.
Responsible for all financial aspects within the respective project team and the controlling department :
- Manage small to medium size of projects, with close follow-up and understanding on the costs to be able to alert in case of margin ratio improvement/deterioration
- Maintains at all point in the project execution life the best/robust view at completion, as well as control of the phasing over calendar periods – respecting the financial reporting needs of Nexans
- Performs as part of the reporting the deviations’ analysis towards forecasts and budgets.
- Takes part in all relevant activities to keep a good overview of the risks and opportunities, and their possible impacts on the project P&L.
- Able, together with the Project Manager, to challenge the project team to get the most accurate picture of the project development.
- Commercially oriented to seek for Opportunities and Variation Orders when applicable.
- Able to structure projects under multi-unit environment (involving various entities within the company)
- Follows-up cashflow and strives for opportunities on cash in acceleration.
- Follows-up on production orders from the production factories, on onshore installation activities and all other project activities (PMT, Engineering, Procurement, etc.).
- Comfortable working in SAP to establish and maintain the work breakdown structure (WBS) throughout the project’s lifetime.

Your starting point when you join :
- Education: Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant financial field, or with Engineer background and relevant financial experience.
- Experience: up to 10 years working experience
- Large work capacity, ability and experience to work in a fast-paced international environment.
- Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, and high sense of quality and on-time performance.
- Advanced user of Excel, and relevant experience working with SAP. Power BI (or similar tool) user experience is a plus.
- Good communication and co-operation skills.
- Fluent in English, FlemishFrench is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
